This is a piece of 3A (Medium Grade) Curly Hawaiian Koa (Acacia koa) solid wood lumber from Hawaii Island.
The wood features the distinctive golden-to-brown natural coloration of Hawaiian Koa, combined with attractive curly figure that changes in depth and appearance with the viewing angle and light.
Measuring approximately 885 mm long and 45 mm thick, this long-format piece can be resawn and processed into binding material for ukulele construction.

Moisture Content & Drying
Our wood comes from naturally fallen trees or logs that have been air-dried in the forest for long periods.
Because of this, some pieces are ready to use, while others may require additional drying.
Hawaiian Koa is known as a wood that dries easily and is resistant to cracking and warping compared to many other tonewoods.
