This is a 3A (Medium Grade) Curly Hawaiian Koa piece featuring the distinctive golden-to-brown natural coloration and attractive three-dimensional curly figure characteristic of Hawaiian Koa.
The natural curly figure changes in appearance depending on the viewing angle and light, revealing beautiful depth and movement across the surface of the wood.
With its dimensions, this piece can be resawn and cut for use as Top and Side material for a concert-size ukulele.
The 25 mm thickness provides flexibility for resawing and planning cuts according to your project requirements. In addition to ukulele construction, the material may also be suitable for musical instrument components, small wooden items, woodworking, and craft projects.
The wood is sourced directly from suppliers on Hawaii Island and supplied as part of an ongoing reforestation project.

Moisture Content & Drying
Our wood comes from naturally fallen trees or logs that have been air-dried in the forest for long periods.
Because of this, some pieces are ready to use, while others may require additional drying.
Hawaiian Koa is known as a wood that dries easily and is resistant to cracking and warping compared to many other tonewoods.
