This is a rare Hawaiian-grown Red Cedar (Australian Red Cedar / Toona ciliata) from Hawaii Island.

Although the species is commonly known as Australian Red Cedar, this particular wood was grown on Hawaii Island in its distinctive volcanic soil and humid tropical climate.

Historically prized as “Red Gold,” Australian Red Cedar has long been valued for its beauty and fine working characteristics. Today, high-quality material suitable for musical instrument construction is increasingly difficult to source.

This set consists of 2 Back pieces and 2 Side pieces, providing a complete 4-piece Back & Side set suitable for Jumbo acoustic guitar construction.

The material has been carefully selected from managed plantation-grown trees and long-term dried stock and is supplied directly from Hawaii Island.
