Zelkova (Zelkova serrata) is a famous tree that represents Japan.
Among them, the most rare is the grain called **bird's eye**.

Countless small eye-shaped grains appear,
The expression that emerges three-dimensionally depending on the angle of the light,
It has a completely different presence from regular grain or burl.

The natural incidence is very low
There is very little of it in circulation on the market.


The rarity of Tori wood

It is said that bird grain is caused by special stresses and environmental factors during the growth process.
The exact conditions under which it occurs have not yet been fully elucidated.

Therefore:

  • The probability of bird grain appearing on large diameter timber is extremely low

  • Instrument-grade stabilizers are even rarer

  • No two patterns are the same

About drying

Because it is a hard material,
Avoid rapid drying.

Thickness 20-30mm → Approximately 2-3 months. Long-term stability is recommended for thicker materials.
